Aerial Artist | Choreographer

Movement has always been Hattie’s medicine, which why she is so passionate about sharing this through the channels of performance, creation and teaching. Her specialties are in aerial artistry and contemporary fusion floor work, although her movement also holds other stylistic influences developed through her years of training.

She began ballet at the age of 3 continuing it up until she was 13. This provided her with a great insight into the discipline and demand dance requires. Whilst learning ballet she also took part in stage schools which gave her additional training in Jazz and Tap.

At the age of 13 Hattie was introduced to Breaking and other styles under the Hip Hop umbrella by BSupreme, a company dedicated to getting more women involved in Hip Hop. She instantly fell in love with the challenging physical nature of Breaking and threw herself into training it, whilst also learning other dance styles such as House, Hip Hop and Commercial.

In the middle of all this was contemporary dance. This is where she recalls feeling the most free. Both Ballet and Breaking - whilst very contrasting, both had very deep rooted foundations and set positions/postures that were pivotal to the style. In contemporary she was able to explore the way her body naturally moved as a result of her dance influences. This is where she really cultivated her love of ground based floor work flow.

Following this Hattie studied Dance : Urban Practice at East London, graduating with first class honours. She met and trained with lots of like minded individuals and began dancing with 2 contemporary dance groups, one being B-Hybrid under the incredible Brian Gillespie. These styles and dance companies have given her the opportunity to perform at some incredible venues such as the O2, West Ham stadium, Kensington Olympia and the Royal Festival hall.

Upon graduation Hattie began working within the fitness industry as a Nike trainer and fitness instructor at Gymbox which gave her the chance to train up to teach Aerial. Whilst she has an undeniable love of everything floor based, seeing what was possible on various apparatus in the air completely inspired her.

She began training avidly on Hoop and Hammock from 2016, and added Aerial Loops to her repertoire in 2022. Whilst those are her specialties she although has also has experience good experience on silks, rope and trapeze. Aerial has seen her perform in venues such as Kensington Olympia, Russels International Circus Mablethorpe and Messe Frankfurt.

Now master trainer at Gymbox for Rhythm and Aerial, Hattie trains both members and instructors in both these disciplines. Along side this she also creates new class concepts, and collaborated in creating and leading a performance course for aspiring aerialists.

She gets so much joy out of the creation and performance process and strives to showcase the best of dance in the air.
