Alex Truglio and Reem Naamani are choreographers, creative directors and educators who together lead Rya Dance Company a contemporary dance organisation creating work for stage, film and large-scale live events, deeply informed by Middle Eastern culture and experience.
Reem Naamani is a choreographer and artistic director native to Lebanon, with a rigorous classical ballet foundation developed at the Beirut Dance Company from 2015 to 2019. She went on to study at NOD in Turin, Italy, immersing herself in the repertoires of Pina Bausch, William Forsythe, Crystal Pite and Jiri Kylian, and received further training at Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London. She is also the founder of Plié Dance Studio in Saida, Lebanon.
Her ceremony credentials are exceptional for the Middle East region. She served as Head of Choreography for The Union Parade in Abu Dhabi, as Assistant Choreographer for the EXPO 2023 Doha Opening Ceremony, and as Assistant Choreographer for both the EXPO 2020 Dubai Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Additional choreographic credits include UAE National Day, Dubai Fashion Week for Cartier, Garnier and L'Oréal, and a Netflix episode filmed in Beirut.
Alex Truglio is a choreographer, creative director, videographer and educator native to Italy. A full-scholarship graduate of Tiffany Theatre College London, he trained in Commercial and Urban styles, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Ballet, singing, acting and musical theatre. He has worked professionally across the UK, USA, Australia, UAE, KSA, Qatar and Lebanon.
His ceremony and event credits include the same landmark productions as Reem, with additional performance work at the Joy Awards Riyadh, Camel Cup Al Ula, Cartier at Dubai Fashion Week, Katy Perry at the O2 for the Brit Awards, PureHealth Opening Ceremony at Louvre Abu Dhabi, Expo 2020 Closing Ceremony, and productions for Sky1 and BBC.
Together, Alex and Reem represent a rare creative partnership multilingual in English, Arabic and Italian, deeply embedded in the culture of the region, and with a track record of delivering at the most senior creative levels in Middle Eastern ceremonial and event production.
