Luis Florenco

Choreographer | Mass Movement Specialist

Luis Florenco is one of the world's most decorated mass choreography specialists with over a decade of experience as head of movement at the very largest scale live productions on the planet.

He holds a Bachelor of Performing Arts specialising in Theatre from the University of Guadalajara, Mexico, and has since built a career that spans mass choreography, dance, circus and stage performance across five continents.

His most recent work includes serving as mass choreographer for the Closing Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics and the Closing Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Paralympics among the most watched live events in television history.

His ceremony credits span the defining events of world sport and culture over the past decade: Opening Ceremony, FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022; Opening Ceremony, UEFA Euro 2024 Germany; Opening and Closing Ceremonies, EXPO 2020 Dubai; Opening Ceremony, EXPO 2023 Doha; Asian Cup Qatar 2023; Pan American and Para-Pan American Games, Santiago de Chile 2023; Francophone Games 2023, Kinshasa; UEFA Champions League Final 2023; Special Olympics World Games, Abu Dhabi 2019; and the Women's Cricket Premier League, India 2023.

His earlier career includes work as an aerialist at the Pan-American Games 2011, acting with Theatre Light in Samara, Russia, and training at the Moscow State School of Circus and Variety Arts. He has worked with Zip-Zap Circus in Cape Town, South Africa, and served as Assistant Director of Choreography with Anima Inc. in Mexico, including on the Day of the Dead Parade in Mexico City.
